Wannacry ransomware attack 2017: The Cyber Outbreak That Shocked the World

 Back in May 2017, this huge cyberattack hit everywhere, messing up hospitals and companies and even governments. It was called WannaCry, some kind of ransomware that locked up files and asked for Bitcoin to unlock them. The way it spread so fast made people realize how connected and risky everything is online. Ransomware has been around for a while, but this one stood out because it used a flaw in Windows known as EternalBlue. I think that came from the NSA originally, and then some hackers called the Shadow Brokers leaked it. Microsoft had put out a fix months before, but so many computers were not updated at all.
